…THE FIRST IN A LINE OF RANGER PROOF SWAG BLADES.
It is made from 3/16″ thick, differentially heat treated, 1095 High Carbon Steel. The blade is 5″ in length, with an overall product length of 10″. Similar to ancient Samurai swords, differential heat treat allows for a blade to have a softer temper on the spine allowing for more flex and making a stronger overall blade. This way of tempering also allows for a harder, more rigid cutting surface that cuts better and holds its edge longer. The blades are then acid washed and tumbled for a durable finish.

Donnie DunnMerrill Field Blade Designer
Donnie was born and raised in Kentucky and grew up in a family of outdoorsman and shooters. As soon as he was able to hold a gun his father had him shooting, hunting and fishing. When he was just 8 years old his father gave him his first knife and this blade was with him on all his outdoor adventures, his father taught him through experience the importance of having a good blade by your side.
This started a lifelong fascination with steel and all things sharp. At 14 Donnie made his first knife from an old railroad tie, he then began drawing designs for all types of blades as he traveled the country with his family as a champion competition Trap shooter.
Although he is an avid shooter and an active NRA instructor, his great passion is for knives and he has designed several blades that have been extremely well received and many are currently being used by soldiers fighting today’s global conflicts. This is a source of great pride for him
Donnie designed the Merrill to be a great all around blade for hunting, camping or a won’t fail companion in a real survival situation
Gary was born in the Tampa, Florida area and has always found his calling in the outdoors. Wherever life has taken him, his passions have always driven him to the woods and the gear vital to surviving there. His attention to detail was born working on and making antique guns, bows and arrowheads since he was a child. He has been building knives at a full-time level for over five years and his skills are so in demand that his custom-order wait time can be as much as six months or more. Gary credits Reese Weiland, Stan Wilson, Dan Pergolini and Melvin Lozada as his major knife making influences. For Gary, every knife that leaves his meticulously kept shop is like a piece of him so being anything less than perfect is not an option.
“I take a great pride in my blades. Even if they don’t have my name on them, I know they are mine and that’s all that matters,” said Stewart. “They are made correctly every single time or they won’t leave my hands. Period.”
